8.GA.5 Use informal arguments to establish facts about the angle sum and exterior angle of triangles, about the angles created when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, and the angle-angle criterion for similarity of triangles.

G.68.8a Identify unknown angles and solve problems using facts about supplementary, complementary and adjacent angles and parallel and perpendicular lines.

G.68.8b Sort angles by type (right, acute, obtuse, straight, reflex).

G.68.8c Order angles by size.

__Student Objectives__

I can define and give examples of specified geometry vocabulary terms.

__Bellwork__

Students will complete a geometry vocabulary pretest. This pretest will be collected and evaluated by the teacher. This is NOT for a grade.

__Lesson__(Geometry Vocabulary Web Quest)

1. The teacher will read over instructions for the vocabulary web quest. Students will look at the instructions on LepApps. The

file is called "Geometry Vocabulary Quest."

2. The teacher will distribute and read over the rubric that will be used to grade students' completed vocabulary quests.

3. The teacher will distribute the vocabulary organizers.

4. Students will use Chromebooks and the vocabulary links in the "Geometry Vocabulary Quest" document on LepApps to complete the vocabulary activity. Students will record each vocabulary term, its definition, and a picture/example on

the organizers. Students will add color to their examples/pictures to give it visual appeal.

5. The teacher will collect students' completed web quests. This assignment will be graded by the teacher using a rubric.

6. Students who get done early will work on XtraMath, Study Island and/or Moby Max lessons.

__Closing__

Exit ticket: self-evaluate behavior and productivity for sub
