1. Record homework in planner. 2. Bellwork: Complete 8th Grade Math Minute 74. Go over correct answers, correct mistakes and record score in Math Minute journal. 3. Pass back and go over "Semester Exam." Lesson (Introduction to Geometry: Basic Terms and Classifying Quadrilaterals) 1. Cloze notes: basic geometry terms using "Basic Geometry Terms Notes" worksheet 2. LearnZillion: watch video lesson "Classifying Quadrilaterals in a Hierarchy" 3. Complete "Classifying Quadrilaterals" activity on SmartBoard. 4. Guided practice with Quadrilaterals chart on "Basic Geometry Terms Notes" worksheet. 5. Independent practice and one-to-one instruction as needed with "Classifying Quadrilaterals" worksheet. Finish for homework. 6. Journal entry: "One thing I learned today...." Homework Complete "Classifying Quadrilaterals" worksheet. Work on Study Island, LearnZillion, Moby Max or XtraMath lesson for at least 15 minutes. 1. Record homework in planner. 2. Bellwork: Complete 8th Grade Math Minute 75. Go over correct answers, correct mistakes and record score in Math Minute journal. 3. Go over homework: "Classifying Quadrilaterals." Answer questions. Lesson (Interior Angles of a Regular Polygon) 1. Review basic geometry terms. 2. SmartBoard activity: identify regular polygons. 3. Demonstrate how to calculate the sum of the interior angles of a polygon by dividing it into triangles. The sum of the interior angles of a triangle is always 180 degrees. Complete the "Regular Polygons Activity" on the "Basic Geometry Terms Notes" worksheet distributed on Tuesday. 4. Independent practice and one-to-one instruction as needed to complete "Calculating Angles of Regular Polygons" worksheet. Calculate only an interior angle and the sum of the interior angles for each shape. Finish for homework. Homework Complete "Calculating Angles of Regular Polygons" worksheet. Work on Study Island, LearnZillion, Moby Max or XtraMath lesson for at least 15 minutes. Other All students should be filling out their Math Minute Journal on a daily basis. Files
