Meet the Teacher................................................................................Mrs. Joann Rauvola
In 1997, I earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a mathematics concentration from Kent State University. I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I continued my education earning a Master of Arts Degree in Special Education as well as my teaching credentials for working as an Intervention Specialist. I graduated with honors. This is my eighteenth year as an educator. I have had the pleasure of working with students with disabilities for the last 15 of those years. I began my teaching career in Lake City, South Carolina at Ronald E. McNair Junior High School. I have taught 2nd grade through high school in all 4 of the core academic subjects as well as conflict resolution, school-to-work skills, social skills and independent living skills. I participated in extensive training related to teaching children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders at my previous school. I have been teaching at Louisville Middle School for 11 years.
I have two young adult sons and live in a century home with my sons and 2 dogs in Minerva, Ohio. I also have two black cats, Houdini and Shadow. Animals, books and movies are three of my favorite things. I also enjoy gardening and spending time with my family.
