State Math Testing

Homework

-There will be a journal check on Tuesday and a binder check on Wednesday.
-There will be a test over exponents on Thursday.

Bellwork
Students will complete "Exponents Ticket 3."
Students will turn in their "Quotient of Powers" homework.
Students will turn in their math journals.

Lesson (Exponent Properties: Exponent Properties-Mixed Review)

1. Whole class: go over bellwork
2. Whole class: go over homework from Friday ("Quotient of Powers" worksheet)
3. Video: exponent properties review
4. Exponents bingo or exponents jeopardy-class will vote
5. Guided practice with a partner, dry erase boards, markers and "Exponent Hurdles Task Cards"

Student Objectives

I can simplify expressions containing exponents.

Bellwork
Students will get a dry erase board, marker, eraser, and calculator.
Students will log in to Chromebooks and go to Renaissance Place.

Lesson (Star Math Test)

1. Students will take the Star Math Test on the Chromebooks. Calculators are not permitted.
2. Students who finish early will work on the "Exponential Expressions" and "Scientific Notation" lessons on Study Island.

Closing
Writing prompt: "What I know about scientific notation............"

Homework

-The Study Island "Exponential Expressions" and "Scientific Notation" lessons are due on March 27.
